Exhausted but good

Sun Nov 1, 2009, 9:48 AM
Sorry for the long delays just been hammered with work

Just finished Spiderman the List with Dan Slot, Adam Kubert and Mark Moralles. The Book was a lot of fun but insane. Adam decided to work Twice the normal size on the pages and went insane on some of those pages. It killed Mark and I. Pages were taking me at least twice as long as usual. The challenge was to do all the details justice but have it hold together color wise. Hope to work with Adam and Mark again soon.

Also just came out this week is Punisher the list. I do not know if I can ever read Punisher again because this book made the perfect ending for the character. Read like his last issue. Great John and Klaus art again. Hopefully it has just enough of a slight change from our Spiderman work.

Working on Two Hulk issue right now. One with Whilce Portacio and Danny Miki and the other with Jr and Klaus.

I will be jumping on Captain America for a while with the one shot "Who will wear the Sheild" by Brubaker, Guice and Ross. Then continuing on with the regular series in January. Really looking forward to working on the series. I think Bru,epting and Frank just did a bang up job on it.

Best to all

Great colors. I've tried digital coloring with very very minimal success. Was hoping you would be nice enough to look at some of my stuff and let me know what you think. I work in acrylics, believe it or not i find them easier to use than photoshop. [link] thanks!

I think you have pick pictures that have to many thing going on in them to work on learning digital painting. That amount of characters gives anyone a run for their money. I would suggest starting the old fashioned way of working on a grayscale painting of an apple and see how well that comes across. Keep the subjects simple as you take time to learn the medium right. Also the more you can do by hand with real paints I have found the better you digital paint is.

Thanks for the input. I've always been a more is better kind of artist. Not sure if I'm going to pursue digital artwork or just continue with acrylics. Again thanks for the response.

No problem

I find the more mediums you can use the better and longer your career. So watercolor, guache, oils, acrylic and digital.

when I teach I find that the most common problem with someone's painting (whatever the medium) is that they are so ready to get to the complex stuff that they rush past the basics. I did it and most of all of the students I have ever have had have done it as well.
They might be boring but just focus on the simple objects and shapes and get that down. If you want a critique on those just post them and let me know.
