A tale of Two Covers Penicls by Klaus Janson Paints Dean White

So I ended up doing two version of this cover. The first is on the right. We had a slight miscommunication on this one. I understood that they wanted something similar to the Cable cover and was a tad challenged by how to do that with the pencils since they did not seem to lend themselves to that approach but check in to make sure that was what they wanted and went to work on it. I really wanted to make sure Klaus and everyone was happy. So I turn it in and Klaus is happy with it but then the Editors came back and that they thought it was beautiful but that it did not have the mood they were looking for and were expecting something slightly different. More traditional in the digital paint. We ended up finding were we went off the rails in our conversations with regards to the cover. They were great with deciding to use the first one as a pinup inside and pay me for the second version. So I turned around and started over and did the one on the left which was just what they were after. These things sometime happen but in the end the Editors were great about it.
